Girl hurt in fall

CUYAHOGA FALLS: A 16-year-old Cuyahoga Falls girl remains in a Cleveland hospital after falling more than 20 feet from a cliff in Gorge Metro Park.

Falls emergency personnel responded to the trail behind the 1600 block of Front Street about 8 p.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call from a friend of the girl.

Fire Chief Paul Moledor said the girl was conscious and talking to paramedics. According to a report, she complained of neck and head injuries.

Park Ranger John Alsapher, who was at the scene, said the girl was climbing up a steep, rocky cliff after swimming with friends when she slipped and fell about 20 to 30 feet to the bottom.

She was transported to a local hospital, then transferred to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
