Cuyahoga Falls City Council unanimously approved the plan for a new Acme store on State Road during Monday night's meeting, according to Falls News Press.

The store, which will be 52,500 square feet, will replace the current facility located on State Road. President and Treasurer of Albrecht Inc. said the project would be a $9.2 million investment by the company and the Fred W. Albrecht Grocery Co.

Architect Robert White told the Planning Commission on Feb. 22 that the new store is expected to be open by Thanksgiving. The current store will be open during the construction period.

Falls News Press.com also has a video of the City Planning Director Fred Guerra and Nilsen discussing the proposal.
