Cuyahoga Falls, Cleveland Orchestra to give away free Blossom concert tickets to Falls residents

CUYAHOGA FALLS: Free tickets are available to Cuyahoga Falls residents for a special "Tribute to Cuyahoga Falls" concert by the Cleveland Orchestra Aug. 5 at Blossom Music Center.

The Cleveland Orchestra will perform A Night at the Opera, featuring the debuts of soprano Angela Meade and tenor Michael Fabiano, conducted by Johannes Debus, also in his debut with the Orchestra. The program includes arias by Verdi, Puccini, and Donizetti, and choruses performed by the Blossom Festival Chorus.

Darrell G. Connell is charged with robbery.

Falls Seeks Grant to Tear Down Houses

CUYAHOGA FALLS:   Cuyahoga Falls Council on Monday voted to support the city's application for a Moving Ohio Forward grant for land reutilization.


If the grant application is successful, the city will receive $20,000 from the state of Ohio and add another $10,000 from the capital  fund to tear down seven abandoned houses.

Board Approves Midweek Early Release for Falls Students

CUYAHOGA FALLS: The Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education approved a plan to release students an hour earlier on Wednesdays beginning in the in the fall.

The accumulated time will give teachers six days each for development and collaboration during the school year.
