Arrests

An Akron man, 45, was charged with theft and escape after he failed to return to the Cuyahoga Falls jail after being permitted to go to a hospital for treatment. He had jail property in his possession.

An Akron man, 19, was charged with falsification Nov. 27 after he allegedly filed a false accident report.

Arson

Someone set fire Nov. 26 to a pile of leaves and a fence next to a home in the 100 block of Saxe Avenue.

Misuse of a credit card

Someone took two credit cards Nov. 28 taken from the men's locker room at the YMCA on Broad Boulevard and made $2,300 in unauthorized purchases.

A Second Street woman told police Nov. 26 that someone took her debit card and used it to make $200 in unauthorized withdrawals.

A Sackett Avenue woman told police Nov. 26 that someone withdrew more than $2,500 from her checking account.

Theft

A 21st Street man told police Nov. 21 that another man borrowed $3,700 in construction equipment but did not return it.

A Broad Boulevard woman, 22, told police Nov. 26 that someone stole $2,800 from her.

Someone took 39 plastic light covers and fluorescent bulbs Nov. 26-28 from an apartment building in the 1800 block of Second Street.

An employee of an East Broadway Street care center is suspected of taking medication from a cart.
