Arrests

A Shannon Avenue woman, 38, was charged with child endangering, drug abuse and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs May 18. Summit County Children's Services took a 20-month-old child into protective custody.

A Saxe Avenue woman, 31, was charged with disorderly conduct May 19, accused of urinating in the parking lot of a State Road bar.

An Akron man, 39, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle March 21, accused of taking his ex-girlfriend's truck. The vehicle was recovered.

A Ranier Street man, 39, was charged with domestic violence May 22, accused of assaulting his wife, 33.

A Madison Avenue man, 40, was charged with drug abuse, possession of a drug abuse instrument and possession of drug paraphernalia May 17. Police said he had a hypodermic syringe containing morphine and several needles.

A Roberts Middle School eighth-grader and a Lincoln Elementary School fifth-grader were charged with criminal mischief May 20, accused of vandalizing Lincoln school with white spray paint.

Breaking and entering

A Marc Drive construction company manager told police May 22 that someone broke into the company's building and stole a time clock and several time cards.

Someone broke into a locked, fenced area of a Buchholzer Boulevard store and stole 35 marine and golf cart batteries worth a total of $4,000.

Burglaries

Someone broke into a home May 21 in the 2300 block of 15th Street and stole jewelry valued at $10,000.

Someone broke into a garage May 19 in the 1400 block of Bancroft Street and stole a 2003 Toyota Four Runner.

Fraud

A counterfeit check for $3,899 was cashed at a Graham Road credit union, according to a May 21 report.

Hit-skip

A Prange Drive woman, 19, was struck by a red Ford Mustang while crossing Sixth Street at Silver Lake Avenue on May 21. Witnesses told police that a bald, white man yelled obscenities at the woman and drove left of center, striking her. She suffered a bruised hip and thigh and was taken to a hospital.

Thefts

A West Portage Trail business owner reported May 17 that he paid $2,300 and gave a 2003 Honda Odyssey as down payment toward a newer van. He said he never received the van and the person he dealt with is avoiding his calls.

A customer borrowed a 2002 Toyota Avalon from a State Road auto dealer May 18 but did not return it.

Someone broke into several cars parked May 19 on Hanover Street.
