There may not be Rockin' on the River in Cuyahoga Falls this week, but the music plays on at the Riverfront Irish Festival.
The festival, which starts Friday and runs through Sunday at Falls River Square, is in its 19th year. It features three stages of music throughout the weekend with more than a dozen groups performing.
This year's Irish Fest starts Friday at 5 p.m. with opening ceremonies. Then starting with the Shaffer Brothers on the amphitheater stage at 5:30 p.m., music plays into the night until Rathkeltair starts at 10:45 p.m. See a full schedule of performances below.
Music isn't the only family friendly event at the Irish Fest this year. Irish food will be sold all weekend, there is an Irish Mass on Sunday and traditional Irish dance will take place.
On Saturday at 8 a.m. is the Riverfront Irish Festival 5K and 1-mile run. Pre-race registration is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the information booth and race applications can be found at www.riverfrontirishfest.com. The race features six separate age divisions and runners who wear a kilt receive a prize.
