CUYAHOGA FALLS: A six-year veteran of the Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education has resigned.
Board member Curtis Grimes sent an email to announce his decision.
“As the years have passed, and even moreso recently, the ability to work as a member of such an important team, such as a school board, has grown ever more difficult,” Grimes wrote. “So much could be said that the general public doesn’t know about, but to do so would only be counterproductive to my main objective for serving on the school board to begin with, to help see to it that the children of this district receive the best education and educational experience possible.”
Grimes lives in Silver Lake and has two children with his wife, Michelle.
He has been active with the Instrumental Music Patrons, the Cuyahoga Falls Alumni Foundation and the Cuyahoga Falls Athletic Boosters.
Board President David Rump is soliciting applications from residents interested in filling Grimes’ spot on the board. Residents of Cuyahoga Falls or Silver Lake who are interested in serving the remaining 18 months of Grimes’ term should submit a letter of interest to Rump by email at cf_rumpd@cfalls.org or by mail to 431 Stow Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 by 4 p.m. Monday.
Candidates will be interviewed by the board beginning next week.
The board anticipates appointing a new member June 26.
