CUYAHOGA FALLS: City Council on Monday heard plans to restore Kelsey Creek in Kennedy Park on the city's east side.

Speaking on behalf of the administration, Becky McCleary said a grant would pay $90,000 of the $290,000 to engineer, design and restore 1,100 feet of the stream.

The project is expected to begin in April and to be completed by June 30.

The restoration is expected to reduce erosion and downstream sedimentation, improve water quality, promote access to the stream and help make Kennedy Park more attractive to visitors, McCleary said.
