CUYAHOGA FALLS: The next Cuyahoga Falls Neighborhood Excellence Initiative meeting is set for Ward 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rocco's Pizza party room, 1053 Portage Trail.
Wednesday's meeting is open to all residents, regardless of where they live.
Ward 1 resident Heather Shaw and Ward 6 councilman Don Walters started the Initiative. Its purpose is to empower residents through neighborhood watch programs and legislation. The Initiative is a pro-active way to address crime and housing violations.
Walters' plan is to have meetings in each ward to introduce the program.
About 35 residents attended the March meeting at Preston Elementary School in Ward 1.
Ward 5 councilman Paul Colavecchio has scheduled a Neighborhood Excellence Initiative meeting for his ward from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on April 17 at Fire Station No. 5, 3497 Wyoga Lake Road.
If firefighters are available, there will be a tour of the station and dispatch center.
