The Cuyahoga Falls bicentennial parade will step off at 10 a.m. Saturday from Bolich Middle School on Portage Trail (13th Street and Portage) and head east on Portage before ending at Front Street and Oakwood Boulevard.
The route, with a few other turns, totals 1.4 miles.
More than 160 units are scheduled to participate.
The reviewing stand will be in front of City Hall, 2310 Second St., where Ray Horner of WAKR (1590-AM) will announce the arrival of the parade units.
Parade watchers are encouraged to use their cell phones to text their votes for their favorite parade entry to 330-510-1511 and enter the unit number, which will be displayed on both sides of each unit.
The phone lines will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. “Only one vote per person please,” the city says on its website. Standard text messaging rates will apply.
The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be announced at 5 p.m. Saturday, during the Crooked River Summerfest at the Falls River Square Amphitheatre.
