CUYAHOGA FALLS: A former Theiss Road resident in Cuyahoga Falls is accused of stealing electric service from the city.
Ralph Gironda, 57, of Tallmadge, appeared Tuesday in Stow Municipal Court on charges of felony theft and a misdemeanor charge of tampering with a utility meter.
After a fire at the Theiss Road residence in February, the Falls Fire Department discovered an illegal electric connection to the city-run utility.
Police said the wiring was hooked up to bypass the meter.
An audit by the city’s utility department found about $5,000 in electric service stolen over the past several years.
Gironda is free on bond.
