CUYAHOGA FALLS: A 38-year-old Myrtle Avenue man faces multiple charges after being accused of breaking into a 20th Street apartment and a State Road muffler shop, and threatening a mother and her two adult sons in incidents Oct. 5.
Tony A. Mavrakis is charged with aggravated burglary, felonious assault, and breaking and entering, all felonies. He is also charged with vandalism and aggravated menacing, both first-degree misdemeanors.
A 68-year-old woman told police Mavrakis forced his way in to her apartment in the 1600 block of 20th Street around 7:30 p.m., causing about $1,000 in damage.
She said he waved around an 18-inch bayonet, threatening to harm her and her 36-year-old son, breaking numerous items in his path.
About an hour later, a witness said Mavrakis ran into Budget Muffler, 3977 State Road, again swinging the bayonet. There, he threatened to kill the same woman’s 25-year-old son.
Mavrakis fled after making the threats. Police said they found him on the roof of Sterling Auto Body on Steels Corner Road at State Road.
Police said Mavrakis was upset over a car he borrowed from the younger son.
